MDTC's First Mock Flyball Tournament is a Success!
February 5, 2005

Milwaukee Dogs ... Ready! Set!

On Sunday February 5th, the MDTC rolled out its brand new mats at Western Waukesha Dog Training Club to host our very first Mock Flyball Tournament. Mock Tournaments are all about having fun and giving new dogs and handlers the opportunity to run in "tournament like" conditions before trying out the real thing. MDTC added two of its own teams to the 5 other entries from 3 different clubs. All competitors got their money's worth at this fun and relaxing tournament as the rather small number of entries gave all of the dogs many opportunities to play the game. Positive comments from many of our guests were heard so we hope the word gets out that MDTC's Mock Tournaments are the place to be. Check out the photos below!

The overwhelming support of the club up to, and including that day, contributed to our success, and a huge thank you goes out to all of those who helped. Our judge for the day was Mark Haslam who kept the racing fun, fast and clean. Tournament Director responsibilities were shared by Sarah Willems and Kira Haslam. Evan and Sam Emmons managed the kitchen and saw to it that good food was had by all including the yummy chili which was prepared by Richard Michalski and Pam Caldwell. Other volunteers pitching in included Karen Michalski, Paula DeTemple, Sally Haldorson, Mark Anderson, Marnie Hammerle, Nicole Reiner, Mari Pavleje, Chris Cowles, Kimberly Follett, Tom Herbert, Sue Steinbach, Deb Jumes and Charlie Mundt.
