Seiche (shown

summer practice) did practice
runs and cheered on
the team! |
The weekend of March 5th and 6th, MDTC's
flyball team made the short trip to Madison to compete in
the Ulti-Mutts
March Madness Flyball Tournament.
On Saturday, The Great Balls of Fur were
well represented by Deuce (Marnie Hammerle), Duncan (Nicole
Reiner), Betzi (Evan Emmons), Disney (Mari Pavleje) and Ted
(Karen Michalski) with Sam Emmons boxloading. Also on the
roster was Seiche (Paula DeTemple) who joined us in her first
tournament to do practice runs and cheer her teammates on.
With a best time of 20.7 seconds the team earned a very respectable
2nd place. Although Sunday brought the first warm sunny day
of the year we were not equally blessed on the mats, as we
finished in last place at that tournament with a fastest time
of 20.53 seconds. Sunday's team line up was essentially the
same except for the substitution of Madison (Sarah Willems)
for Disney and Pam Caldwell was boxloading.
An enthusiastic thank you goes
out to all those who helped the team out that weekend including
Dennis Beauchesne from Proper Paws University and Patti and
Ed Muraczewski from High Fives. A round of applause goes out
to Betzi (Evan Emmons) for earning the title of Flyball Dog
Champion on Saturday by earning 500 career points.
