Wisconsin State Fair 2015 - Agility Performers
Saturday August 8th, was MDTC’s day to be featured at State Fair’s new K-9 Sports Arena. We started out and ended the day with great Obedience Demos under the K-9 Arena tent.
We also put on a Rockin’ Agility coliseum demo to an appreciative crowd! We set-up and ran a full course of 18 obstacles. Our agility demo teams consisted of: Tracy McCarty/Zeni & Wikki, Ellen Mack/Lola, Mollie Sisson/Speed, Daryl Stuppan/Cashmere, Rick Harwell/Rocket and Theresa Harwell/Sky.
This was a perfect show group as it represented the stages of agility from Novice/Green first timers to Advanced/Skilled and seasoned. This video shows Daryl and Cashmere, as an advanced team, as well as Tracy and Wikki as a newer team.
A LOT of work, effort and heart went into making this event successful, and it showed! Club spirit and the sport at it’s finest!!!

John Pittman
John Pittman, Milwaukee Dog Training Club's newest Life Time member, has been training his Standard Poodles with MDTC since 1994. To be honored with a lifetime membership, the member must be in good standing for 20 continuous years. In addition to training Poodles, Pittman has volunteered many hours to the club instructing both Obedience and Agility, serving as a Club Officer, serving on the Board of Directors, and volunteering on committees such as the AKC Obedience Trial (Chair and Secretary), Building and Grounds, and Web Master.
Pittman's first Poodle, Kramer (Keweenaw John's Second Happy Dog UDX), achieved one of the highest titles AKC awards in Obedience, the Utility Dog Excellent title. To earn a UDX, a dog must qualify in both Utility and Open at the same trial 10 times.
Standard Poodle, Drexel (CH MACH Magicstar Heritage CDX MX MXJ), was the second Poodle in the USA to become a breed champion and an Agility champion.
Orchid (CH Gladystar Obsidian Flower CDX RN AX AXJ NF) was ranked in AKC Agility as the 10th fastest 24" jumping Poodle. She currently competes at the Utility level in Obedience while continuing the pursuit of an Agilty Championship.
Other Standard Poodles trained by Pittman at MDTC include Klara MX MXJ, Chandler CD RN, and Sultry OA OAJ NF.
In 2008, Pittman started breeding Standard Poodles under the Gladystar kennel name . Gladystar Poodle puppies have earned many AKC companion titles which American Kennel Club (AKC) recognized by bestowing the Breeder of Merit designation to Pittman. The Gladystar Poodles website has lots of Standard Poodle puppy pictures and other Standard Poodle pictures and information.
"I always recommend Milwaukee Dog Training to my puppy buyers," Pittman said. He added, "The most important class for a dog is the first one. Getting out with your dog to a class environment really strengthens the owner-dog relationship. Milwaukee Dog Training Club has excellent programs at very reasonable costs. "And, its fun!"."
