In this issue...

Facility Improvements : Room 3 floor has been raised and combined with Room 2 to create a larger space for flyball and obedience. The club is finalizing flooring quotes and planning new programming for the expanded area.

Code of Conduct Development : The club is forming a committee to develop their first-ever code of conduct based on member feedback. Volunteers are needed to review the draft and bring recommendations to the board.

Summer Training Reminders : Outdoor classes have resumed with safety guidelines including closed-toe shoes, long pants recommended, and heat safety tips for dogs during hot weather.

Upcoming Events : AKC trial needs 20-25 volunteers (June 7-8), West Allis parade participation (July 2), Sendik's fundraiser (July 20), and State Fair demonstrations (August 1 & 8).

Election Results : All officer positions were uncontested, with Alex Christopherson and Kris Conell elected as new board members.

Big Move to Cornell Street! Our new facility at 2116 W Cornell St is ready! Agility classes have already moved (Feb 28), Open/Utility classes start March 2, and all remaining Obedience classes begin March 16. See the detailed schedule for your class.

Building Updates : Our new facility features a premium rubber floor in Room 1 and plans for modifying Room 3 to accommodate flyball training. The board is discussing floor maintenance policies at the March meeting.

Achievement Trial : Mark your calendar for March 23 at noon at the St. Paul location. Regular classes are canceled that day to allow members to participate. Entry forms are available at the St. Paul location.

Sports Show Volunteers Needed : MDTC will be demonstrating at the Journal Sentinel Sports Show March 7-9. Sign up at the St. Paul location for demonstration slots or to help with booth setup/takedown.

Election Season : Nominations for Officer positions and two Board Member positions will be taken at the April meeting. See inside for details on running.

Microchip Alert : The "Save this Life" microchip company has closed. If your dog was registered with them, get your chip number from your vet and register with another service.

Holiday Party Highlights : The annual event was a huge success with 90 attendees! Tim Carter was named Instructor of the Year, and Neil Wiesner-Hanks received Outstanding Service Award.

Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Test : Congratulations to seven teams who passed the CGC test in January, earning their official CGC titles.

New Facility Updates : The club continues preparing the new location at 2116 W Cornell St, with new flooring installed in Room 1 and plans for Room 3 expansion to accommodate flyball training.

Achievement Trial Prep : The annual Achievement Trial is set for March 23rd at noon. A Q&A and demo session will be held on February 16th to help members prepare.

Sports Show Volunteers : The Journal Sentinel Sports Show is coming March 7-9, and MDTC needs volunteers and dogs to demonstrate obedience and agility skills.

Election Season Approaching : Nominations for Officer and Board Member positions will be taken at the April meeting, with elections in May.

Winter Dog Care : The newsletter includes comprehensive tips for keeping dogs safe and healthy during the cold Wisconsin winter months.
